Soterix Medical developed the first home conventional tDCS/ tES system for remote supervised use in 2015. The remote system includes devices, accessories, and software that have been uniquely developed to reduce use error, increase robustness, and compliance. Leveraging our experience with home conventional tES delivery, we recently introduced the home-based High Definition-tES system. Unique to this platform is an individualized proprietary headgear for each participant based on their own MRI data guaranteeing precise fit. The net form-factor / design restricts access to prescribed locations ensuring accurate and repeatable electrode placement session after session.
This webinar will introduce the concept, explain elements that are essential to help you plan your REMOTE neuromodulation session, and provide an update on use in trials world-wide.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in combination with MRI guided neuronavigation can be used to study cerebral, spinal and peripheral pathways in stroke patients. Additionally, stroke patients have successfully received rehabilitation treatments with repetitive TMS for improvements of hand motor function outcome and non-fluent aphasia. These improvements after rTMS therapy are due to normalization of disrupted activity caused by the stroke. In this webinar we cover the latest advancements in the application of MRI-guided TMS in stroke research and rehabilitation. Background information regarding the effects of a stroke on the brain will be discussed as well as treatment protocols for stroke rehabilitation. We'll also explain how MRI guided neuronavigation can be used to improve rTMS targeting and clinical outcome and how a personal approach for each patiënt can have a beneficial effect. Additionally, we'll cover the latest scientific findings regarding TMS and stroke.
The guest speaker is Professor dr. med. Friedhelm Hummel of the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EFPL), Switzerland. He is an internationally renowned expert in the field of TMS in stroke and he will guide you through latest developments and share his insights. There will be ample room to ask questions.

Functional near infrared spectroscopy is the use of near infrared spectroscopy for functional neuroimaging. EEG has high temporal resolution but low spatial resolution. fMRI has high spatial resolution but low temporal resolution. In addition, fMRI is expensive and stationary. Conventional fNIRS technology provides a compromise between EEG and fMRI techniques. NIRSIT is the first fNIRS device that provides millimeter-level spatial resolution while also providing high temporal resolution (125 ms / 8 Hz). This webinar is focused on the analysis approaches and applications specific to psychiatry using the NIRSIT device. Navigated rTMS is an increasingly popular treatment option for patients with psychiatric disorders such as major depressive disorder (MDD) and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Additionally, the application of TMS for the prognosis and treatment of stroke patients suffering from upper limb impairment is increasing in popularity. However, guiding the TMS coil to the target brain area needs to be performed accurately in order to obtain efficient and reliable treatment and diagnostic outcomes. By using an MRI-guided neuronavigation system, an individual's MRI scan is used to accurately guide the TMS coil to the brain region of interest. In this webinar we give an overview of the latest insights of MRI-guided neuronavigation and we inform about its application in a large randomised controlled trial in subacute stroke patients. After these two lectures, we will demonstrate our latest rTMS and MRI-guided neuronavigation equipment and teach you how to use the equipment successfully.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an increasingly popular treatment option for patients with major depression disorder (MDD) and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). It has been approved by the FDA since 2009, is CE certified for clinical use in the EU and is reimbursed by health care insurers. Still, there are many different ways of placing the TMS coil over the target brain area. This webinar presents an introduction on TMS and a relatively new technique for placing the TMS coil over a target brain region: neuro-cardiac-guided TMS. This method employs heart rate assessed during TMS stimulation to verify 'target engagement' of the Frontal-Vagal network, that is hypothesized to be involved in depression. Two experts in the field of TMS and neuro-cardiac-guided TMS will guide you through the latest advancements and will share their insights. There will be ample room to ask questions.
